Gaston County development goes into foreclosure

Gastonia’s Village at the Mountain subdivision has been foreclosed on.

According to Gaston County’s register of deeds, foreclosed on 16 parcels totaling 5.3 total acres with a combined tax value of $1.03 million.

The homes were described as upscale townhouses. The former owner, Gastonia-based Village at the Mountain LLC, owes about $754,000 on the property.

The state dissolved Village at the Mountain LLC last month for failure to file an annual report with the secretary of state’s office.

Records show homes near the subdivision sold for as much as $285,000 in 2007. The most recent townhome went for $215,000 in August 2009.
