Charlotte annexes 267 acres

The Charlotte City Council on Monday approved the voluntary annexation of 267 acres at 8800 Robinson Church Road, which LGI Homes-NC LLC purchased the land for $3.7 million on Aug. 8, according to Mecklenburg County property records.
The parcel, east of the city between East W.T. Harris Boulevard and Harrisburg Road, is one of the largest remaining undeveloped parcels in Mecklenburg County. It is zoned residential 3, which requires minimum lot sizes of 12,000 square feet, or more than a quarter of an acre.
LGI Homes developed the nearby Kingstree subdivision. The company did not respond to a request for information about its plans.
