CAGC raises over $200K for bond vote support

Carolinas AGC said it has confirmed pledges totaling more than $200,000 for bond-referendum support and expects to collect more as fundraising continues through March 15, the referendum date for the $2 billion Connect Bond Campaign.

“The Connect NC Committee sincerely appreciates ‘s leadership in providing much-needed financial support for the bond campaign. There is no other industry association contributing at this level,” said Joyce Kohn, Connect NC Bond Committee fundraising director.

The Connect NC Bond Committee’s goal is to raise $3.3 million as it continues its digital, media and direct voter-contact campaign throughout the state in support of the bond. The bipartisan committee of business and community leaders is the official referendum committee charged with advocating for the passage of the statewide bond referendum.

Meeting with bond campaign organizers in December, CAGC joined the Connect NC Committee and pledged to raise $500,000.

Scott Cutler, vice president at Clancy & Theys Construction Co., serves as the fundraising chair for CAGC. His committee, which includes six other general contractors, is soliciting contributions through a “Give and Get” campaign.
