Publix plans to open two markets in 2016

Publix Super Markets Inc. has announced two new store locations in the Charlotte region, and both are expected to open in 2016.

One of the stores will be built on Randolph Road in Charlotte’s Cotswold neighborhood, and the other will be built at Brawley School and Williamson roads in the Brawley Commons shopping center in Mooresville. Both stores will be 49,000 square feet.

Publix most recently opened a new store in Cornelius on Feb. 4, and the opening of it’s 55,000-square-foot store as part of the Shops at Southline shopping center on South Boulevard is scheduled for April 18.

The company opened nine stores across the Charlotte region in 2014, and plans to open another six by the end of this year.
