NC DOT to hold meeting on I-85 widening

CHARLOTTE – The N.C. Department of Transportation has scheduled a public workshop for 4-7 p.m. July 24 to discuss widening Interstate 85 from two to four lanes in each direction from north of N.C. 73 to north of Lane Street in Cabarrus County and improving interchanges at U.S. 29/601, Dale Earnhardt Boulevard and Lane Street.

The final project design will be available and N.C. DOT representatives will answer questions and listen to comments regarding the project. The public will also have the opportunity to submit comments and questions in writing. There will not be a formal presentation.

The workshop will be held at Kannapolis Middle School located at 1445 Oakwood Avenue. Written comments or questions can be submitted through August 7.
