RALEIGH – The has announced that David Tyeryar has taken over this week as the new CFO, according to a news release.

Before joining N.C. DOT, Tyeryar served as deputy secretary and CFO for the Virginia DOT, where he helped implement a number of funding reforms, the release said. In that role, Tyeryar helped pass Virginia’s first comprehensive transportation funding plan in 27 years, which provides more than 13,000 jobs and $9.5 billion in economic investments.

He will be tasked with looking for ways to meet growing transportation infrastructure demands, while facing a continuing decline in traditional revenue sources, the N.C. DOT said.
