N.C. DOT to hold Catawba Avenue public meeting

CORNELIUS – The N.C. Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting April 10 to discuss proposed improvements on West Catawba Avenue from Sam Furr Road to Jetton Road.

The project is proposed to widen Catawba Avenue to improve mobility and safety for drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists, the N.C. DOT said. This project is an extension of improvements made to the street in 2009, between Interstate 77 and Jetton Road.

The public meeting will be held from 4- 6 p.m. at Cornelius Town Hall, 21445 Catawba Ave. No formal presentation about the widening will be shown at the meeting, but citizens will be given the opportunity to meet with and ask questions of DOT officials.
