Knights lock doors to SC stadium, make move to NC

, S.C.  — The have officially said goodbye to the South Carolina stadium that was their home turf for more than two decades.

The Herald of Rock Hill reports (https://bit.ly/1enYbCx ) that Knights executive vice president Dan Rajkowski ceremonially locked the doors on Monday to the Fort Mill stadium where the team played for 24 seasons.

The Knights have been the farm club for the Chicago White Sox since 1999. The Class AAA baseball team announced earlier this year that professional baseball would officially return to Charlotte on April 11, 2014, with an inaugural game at BB&T Ballpark against the Norfolk Tides.

York County sold most of the Knights Stadium property to the , which has said that it plans to develop a distribution center there.
