The long-awaited announcement of the technology behind a waste-to-energy incinerator at was made Thursday.

Charlotte-based Forsite Development will partner with Colwich, Kan.-based ICM Inc. for its gasification technology, Forsite said.

Eisenmann Corp., based in Crystal Lake, Ill., will provide wet electrostatic precipitator technology to control emissions.

Forsite announced in October it will use Charlotte-based FCR Recycling for the $30 million plant that developers say will divert approximately 340,000 tons of waste annually from local landfills.

Forsite president Tom McKittrick said 17 gasification and traditional technologies were considered for ReVenture, a 667-acre eco-industrial park being developed in western Mecklenburg County.

ICM has a commercial-scale pilot plant in Kansas using the gasification technology, McKittrick said, adding that the pilot plant could help with ReVenture’s quest for state air permits because the emissions at that plant can be tested.
