CRú wine bar & bistro to open new location at Linea in Charlotte’s South End

National developer Portman today announced CRÚ Wine Bar & Bistro will open its newest location at Linea, the 34-story luxury residential tower developed by Portman in South End Charlotte. The upscale yet approachable dining destination is slated to open in late fall this year, bringing its reimagined menu and refreshed guest experience. Known for its extensive wine program, chef-driven cuisine and inviting atmosphere, CRÚ will offer more than 30 wines by the glass and over 300 bottle selections. The menu is designed to complement every occasion, from brunch and seasonal lunches to curated happy hour offerings and refined dinner entrées. Guests can also enjoy guided wine flights and the brand’s newly introduced pinsa pizzas, alongside signature pairings and rotating specials. CRÚ Wine Bar & Bistro will be located at Suite 110 at Linea and span across 2,389 square feet of retail space.

Founded in 2002, the Dallas-born concept entered a new phase of growth following its July 2025 acquisition by an investment group led by founder and CEO Patrick Colombo and Simon Bozas, founding partner of Mezas Capital Group and now CRÚ’s CFO. The group acquired all existing locations across Texas, Georgia and North Carolina, positioning the brand for strategic national expansion. In addition to Charlotte, CRÚ operates in North Carolina at Fenton and is targeting future growth in Florida and Arizona, with a long-term goal of reaching up to 30 locations nationwide.

CRÚ Wine Bar & Bistro will join a dynamic lineup of recently opened, best-in-class retailers at Linea, including Half Shell Oyster, a seafood restaurant; Peachy, a boutique skincare provider; JETSET Pilates, a high-intensity workout studio; and Night Swim Coffee, a local coffee shop.

Also in Charlotte is Vera at Savona Mill, Portman’s 319-unit multifamily building within a 27-acre adaptive reuse community. Savona Mill includes 200,000 square feet of office space, 14,000 square feet of retail and a community plaza adjacent to the Stewart Creek Greenway.
