Another interesting article recently is challenging the “traditional” 3% Buyers Agent commissions as being way overpriced. The assumption is that a Buyers Agent does little other than show you a property and pick up a big check. That is quite an assumption!
The truth is that for most people a Real Estate transaction is something they do maybe 3 or 4 times over a lifetime. The potential to make a mistake is pretty large and can be more costly than a commission. A good agent becomes a guide to help avoid pitfalls.
