at Highland Creek is pleased to announce that Summit Coffee and YogaSix (Y6) are now welcoming residents and other customers to their newly opened coffee and fitness concepts adjacent to the build-to-rent townhome community.

The seven-acre, mixed-use neighborhood in North Charlotte includes 89 new-build, three-story townhomes and 4,000 SF of retail, and answers the demand for build-to-rent (BTR) townhomes in an area where there is currently little inventory and price points are high.

Summit Coffee and YogaSix (Y6) each occupy suites of approximately 2,000 SF in Cascadia’s retail area, next to the townhomes and surface parking lot. Matt McLanahan of White Point Partners led the retail leasing efforts for the community.

“We’re very excited that these popular and well-respected businesses have joined our neighborhood,” says Andy Lucas, principal at Beauxwright, a development partner with White Point Partners and Copper Builders. “They help complete our vision for a modern urban village with specialty retail just a few steps away, and suit our residents’ desire to patronize locally owned companies.”

Brian Helfrich, CEO of Summit Coffee, says Cascadia’s location was perfect for his business. “Summit is constantly searching for great communities where we can build cafes and become part of a neighborhood,” he says. “We’re thrilled to be part of the Cascadia development, and Highland Creek on a larger scale. Our purpose is to create moments of joy for our customers, and connect with them on a level beyond what is common among coffee shops and other quick- service restaurants. Now we’re pleased to open our doors as a destination and connecting point for our Cascadia neighbors.”

Exercise is also a vital part of the lifestyle mix at Cascadia, making YogaSix (Y6) an ideal fit. This is its newest location among several locally owned and operated studios throughout the Southeast, one of which is located nearby in Cornelius. “We were attracted to this area because it brings together residents of all ages who care about fitness and wellness,” says Alireza Rashidi, owner and operator at YogaSix (Y6) Cornelius and Highland Creek. “We aim to provide a wide range of class types from Hot and Powerful to Restorative and Mindful. We can assure that we can always cater a good yoga class to our new community in Highland Creek.”

Danielle McGrath and Emily Crandall of JLL represented YogaSix (Y6) in the lease negotiation.
