AIA to host leadership transition forum

Staff Report//October 4, 2016//

The Charlotte chapter of the will host a discussion on leadership transition processes on Oct. 12.

Speakers for the event will be from the firm of Watson Tate Savory, according to a press release from the AIA.

After 25 years of building a regional design firm, the founding principals of Watson Tate Savory developed a strategy for leadership transition to include younger members of the firm in the ownership and management of the firm. This process started in the aftermath of a failed merger, which was taken as an opportunity to groom and grow leaders from within the company. AIA has invited Michael Watson and firm consultant Doug McVadon to discuss their transition process and to give an opportunity for other firm principals and young leaders to ask questions on this sometimes difficult process.

The discussion will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. at Alfred Williams Showroom, 505 South Cedar St.
