The town of Davidson has hired planning technician Lindsay Laird and promoted Travis Johnson from planner to senior planner with a focus on transportation and geographic information systems.
The town Board of Commissioners added the planning technician position to handle its growing need for development management and permit approval, according to a statement. Laird has a bachelor’s degree in environmental policy and planning and a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from Virginia Tech.
Johnson has been a town planner since July 2014. He will serve as project manager for the town’s forthcoming comprehensive transportation plan and will expand his duties to include development review. He has a bachelor’s degree in public administration from the University of Central Florida and a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from the University of Florida.
“As we move into the creation of the Mobility Plan, Travis’ skills and expertise will be critical for future transportation planning in Davidson,” said Planning Director Jason Burdette in the statement.
