Fairview amends ordinance

The on Monday approved a text amendment to the town’s zoning ordinance that will allow more options for accessory buildings on properties, according to Ed Humphries, the town’s zoning administrator.

The amendment allows accessory buildings to be in front of the property’s principal structure, so long as the following conditions are met: The lot must be five acres or larger; the accessory building must be at least 200 feet from the front property line; and there must be a side yard setback of at least 15 feet.
