NCDOT seeks public comment on corridors study

The Associated Press//October 6, 2014//

RALEIGH — The state Transportation Department has begun a 60-day comment period during which North Carolina citizens can share their views on the results of a study about how to move people and goods.

A DOT study mapped out the proposed strategic transportation corridors. They’re based on three main factors: providing connections to national transportation networks critical to interstate commerce and national defense; allowing significant inter-regional movements of people and goods across the state; and supporting economic development and efficiency of transport logistics.

The public comment period began Friday and ends Dec. 2. The study policy and map showing the corridors are available online at https://bit.ly/1BDpK5d.

Comments may be emailed to Kerry Morrow, statewide plan engineer, at [email protected] or by calling N.C. DOT at 1-877-DOT-4YOU, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
