Sedgefield one of nation’s hottest neighborhoods

Sedgefield is red hot.

Real estate listing portal Redfin predicts that the South Charlotte neighborhood will be the seventh hottest community in the nation by the end of 2014.

The Seattle-based Redfin made the determination based on web traffic on its site’s home listings, which are broken down by neighborhood.

“Affordability is a big reason Sedgefield is becoming such a hot area right now,” said Charlotte Redfin agent Marcy Prentiss. “The homes on the market don’t cost as much as homes in other neighborhoods, such as Dilworth and Myers Park, making it an appealing location for homebuyers. And while the houses in the area are smaller, they are on beautiful lots with plenty of mature trees.”

The median price for a home in Sedgefield is $288,950, according to Redfin.

North Oak Park in Sacramento topped Redfin’s list of best neighborhoods.
