Waxhaw to discuss fast-food spacing

At its Feb. 17 meeting, the will discuss allowing fast-food restaurants to be placed nearer to each other on the same side of the street. Pavilion Development Co. is requesting the amendment to the unified development ordinance to reduce from 700 feet to 400 feet the required distance between fast-food or drive-through restaurants on the same side of the street.

The proposed text amendment also clarifies the language used when determining separation distance, such as precise starting and ending points, to be used when measuring distances.
