CHARLOTTE – The city has opened for bidding two new construction projects at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
Bidding is for two phases, eight and nine, of work on the CLT Center at the airport. According to the city’s invitation to bid, the two phases include the interior renovation of 19,000 square feet of existing warehouse and office space to create new offices.
Phase 8 includes renovation of warehouse space in the Information Technology Department office suite, which is 7,850 square feet. This phase will include a new IT and communications room, according to the bid documents. Phase 9 will include warehouse renovations for a new 5,650-square-foot human resources and finance office suite, as well as the renovation of the existing office and conference area for a new 5,500-square-foot lobby and executive suite.
Both phases include new lighting, electrical outlets, telecom and data, alteration of the existing fire protection system, and replacement and relocation of existing mechanical units, according to the city documents.
Those interested in bidding on these projects are required to attend a pre-bid conference at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at the CLT Center at 5601 Wilkinson Blvd. Bids are due at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at the same location.
Bidders may obtain the complete project manual, including all plans, drawings and specifications beginning Thursday, Sept. 19 from Richa Graphics at 800 N. College St.
