Plan in the works for Park, Woodlawn roads area

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Planning Department will start developing a plan for the Park and Woodlawn roads area this fall.

City planner Alberto Gonzalez told the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Planning Commission that the plan would include land between Dilworth and Tyvola Road along Park Road.

The plan for the Park and Woodlawn roads area is in its infancy. A kickoff meeting about the plan will be held in November, followed by the formation of a citizens advisory group that will meet throughout the winter and spring. Specific dates have not been set.

The planning department hopes to have a draft of the plan ready by the fall of 2012 followed by adoption by the City Council later that year.
