Founded by H.B. Meiselman in the 1930s, EFC owned and operated movie theaters until selling its 230-screen portfolio to Regal Cinemas in 2005. Today, EFC invests in real estate in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions and also invests in small private companies, according to the release.

From 2000 to 2010, Long served as the senior vice president and CFO of Crosland LLC. Most recently, he was CFO for CampusWorks LLC, a student housing developer.

“Ned and I first worked together in 2000, and I was always impressed by his intelligence, patience and problem-solving abilities,” said EFC Chairman Carter Meiselman in the release. “Since the theater sale 10 years ago, we have expanded our real estate holdings in the Southeast; however, Ned will bring a new level of professionalism, sophistication and dedication to our business, especially to the acquisition side, that we did not have previously.”
