Roughly two years after expressing an interest in The Point Lake and Golf Club in Mooresville, the Trump Organization on Thursday said the sale is going to go through.
Eric Trump, son of real estate mogul Donald Trump, announced the deal in an email to The Mecklenburg Times Thursday night.
“We won the vote in an overwhelming victory this evening!” he wrote.
The Trump Organization has expressed interest in the club since 2010. But last year, negotiations with the club fell apart thanks to infighting among club members. Some did not want Trump to purchase the club, raising concerns that fees might go up and that the Trump Organization would change the ambiance of the club, among other things.
Eric Trump said he plans to be in the Charlotte area Monday to visit the club.
