M/I Homes has broken ground on the model home at Selwyn Landing, an affordable new home community in Charlotte. Located in the University City area off of W.T. Harris Road and Grier Road, Selwyn Landing will feature 140 ranch and two-story homes from 1,559 to 2,665 square feet. Prices start in the mid $200s.
Sales of home sites began in mid-March to members of M/I’s VIP list (sign up at www.mihomes.com/selwynlanding). Eight different home plans from M/I Homes’ Smart Series, with up to 5 bedrooms, will be available in the community.
M/I’s Smart Series design packages let buyers choose their plan and select from pre-coordinated finishes recommended by M/I’s professional designers. Packages include granite countertops and other popular amenities. “We designed Selwyn Landing with style, convenience, and affordability all in mind,” says Alan Beulah, M/I Homes’ vice president of sales and marketing.
The model home will showcase the Dearborn. Highlights of this plan include 9-foot ceilings and an open family room, kitchen and breakfast area downstairs. Upstairs, homebuyers can enjoy a large owner’s suite with walk-in closet. Two additional bedrooms and a loft upstairs provide plenty of space for the family.
Interior spaces will include formal dining, study, rec room, loft, main-floor guest suites, and open family gathering areas. All plans include a two-car garage.
Children in Selwyn Landing will attend Joseph W. Grier Academy, North Ridge Middle School, and Rocky River High School. The area around Selwyn Landing offers a variety of events, including concerts at PNC Music Pavilion and sports and activities at UNC Charlotte. Northlake Mall is nearby, along with locally owned shops in the University area. Selwyn Landing is only a short distance from the Old Concord and University City Boulevard light rail stations, so Uptown is easily accessible for a night out.
