CHARLOTTE — Charlotte-based Crescent Resources was issued roughly $40 million in building permits last week for work on its $52 million Circle at SouthPark apartment project.

The permits, awarded by Mecklenburg County Friday, were for $11.9 million in construction for Building 1, $7.9 million for Building 2, $11.6 million for Building 3, $3 million for Building 4, $5.7 million for a parking deck, $719,205 for the clubhouse and $6,500 for a retaining wall, according to the county’s online permits database.

The Mecklenburg Times reported in June that construction was under way for the 321-unit apartment project. According to Crescent’s website, the apartments are “Coming to South Park Summer 2013.”

Crescent and Adolf & Peterson, the Charlotte-based general contractor for the project, couldn’t be reached for comment.
