Luxury apartments nearing completion in Southwest Charlotte

Luxury apartment community, Sycamore at Tyvola, will soon open to new residents seeking elegance and tranquility in Southwest Charlotte. The gated community of 288 one- and two- bedroom units will feature upscale amenities, controlled access, elevator service, yoga, barre, and spin studios, a pool, and expansive green space, offering residents a community designed with leisure and privacy in mind.

Developer Switzenbaum and Associates owns the 32 acres of land situated between South Tryon Street and West Tyvola Road where Sycamore at Tyvola is nearing completion. Sycamore at Tyvola is located less than one mile from I-77, offering convenient access to Uptown, South End, SouthPark, Ballantyne, and Charlotte-Douglas International Airport.

“We are building in one of the most dynamic neighborhoods in Charlotte, and we are excited to have the opportunity to add such a uniquely-designed community for residents here. With its prime location close to I-77 and Uptown, and the beautiful design touches, we believe Sycamore at Tyvola will be a source of pride for our residents.” said Switzenbaum’s president, Sam Switzenbaum.

“We’ve enjoyed our experience working with the City of Charlotte on this project, and Sycamore at Tyvola is just the first of many projects we are planning to bring to the Queen City,” Switzenbaum added.

Sycamore at Tyvola presents a new paradigm in multi-family living, with an innovative building design that complements the unique topography of the site. Switzenbaum & Associates retained Schwam Architects for the design. Schwam delivered a layout with twice as many corner apartment units as typical multi-family complexes. Each of the six buildings at Sycamore at Tyvola will house 28 sought-after corner units, with panoramic views to take in the beautiful, natural landscape surrounding the six, three-story apartment buildings. Each apartment, ranging in size from 792 to 1,211 square feet, features high-end finishes, including granite countertops, tile backsplash, stainless steel appliances, and walk-in closets. Residents will be able to enjoy a rock garden, pond, walking trail, swimming pool, and putting green, as a few of the outdoor amenities. An on-site fitness facility includes a yoga and barre studio, as well as a spin studio with on-demand classes available to residents.

Switzenbaum & Associates retained Charlotte-based Urbanik Interiors for the design of the clubhouse and common areas in the apartment buildings, which will include vintage Charlotte photos. Those spaces will also feature commissioned art from renowned artist Sally Heller, whose work ties into the themes of nature and tranquility found throughout Sycamore at Tyvola. Switzenbaum & Associates retained NarmourWright as the local architect on the project.

Sycamore at Tyvola expects to open for tours and leasing opportunities in mid-April 2018.
