Montford Park Partners, a nonprofit organization, has been created with the purpose of enhancing “the livability, viability, and visibility” of Charlotte’s Montford Park neighborhood, which recently has seen an increase in retail, residential and commercial redevelopment.

The group plans to “serve an important role in supporting smart and attractive growth that benefits the neighborhood and its visitors,” according to a news release.

The group formed in an effort to brand the previously unnamed neighborhood, which is centered on Park Road between Selwyn Avenue and Reece Road. The name pays homage to two notable destinations in the area: Park Road Shopping Center, which is undergoing redevelopment, and Montford Drive, a thriving entertainment district.

“Montford Park has a strong foundation of diverse businesses and residents in an incredible location. I can’t wait to watch the neighborhood elevate even more with its renewed brand and organized advocacy,” said Rachel Russell, vice president of Milhaus and chair of Montford Park Partners.
