A Charlotte family was among three winners in the PURPLE-to-Perfect Contest sponsored by Charlotte-based drywall manufacturer National Gypsum, according to a press release from the company.
The winning entries in the home improvement contest were submitted from families across the country.
TV personality and interior designer Anitra Mecadon will work hand-in-hand this summer with the winners of a media room, bathroom and garage renovation, according to the release.
Nate and Kyle Smith of Charlotte won a $15,000 bathroom renovation from the company.
The Smith family showed National Gypsum their outdated and tiny bathroom with 30-year-old tile, old carpeting and a leaky shower door – all potential contributors to mold, moisture and mildew, according to the release. Mecadon said in the release she plans to use a nearby closet to expand the bathroom.
The two other winners were Tim and Lauren Oliphant of Olathe, Kansas, who will receive a $25,000 media room and Richard and Gretchen Lindlau of Dousman, Wisconsin, who will receive a $10,000 garage makeover.
“National Gypsum selected these winners because they creatively demonstrated how a renovation with our high-performance drywall would immediately improve their homes,” said Jay Watt, National Gypsum’s director of marketing in the release.
