The Waxhaw Board of Commissioners voted 3-2 Tuesday to approve CalAtlantic Homes’ preliminary plans to build 33 single-family homes on 7.3 largely undeveloped acres north of Waxhaw-Marvin Road and west of Peyton Court.
According to site plans, the project calls for a density of 4.4 units per acre. Nearly 2 acres would be preserved for open space.
The planning staff recommended approval of the plan, saying it complied with the requirements in the town’s unified development ordinance.
The Waxhaw Planning Board voted 4-0 at its June 20 meeting to recommend that commissioners approve the plan.
