Office-warehouse building sold

Piedmont Properties/CORFAC International has completed the sale of a 5,000-square-foot office and warehouse building at 1604 N. Graham St., Charlotte, according to a press release from the company.

The building occupies 0.5 acres and is located in the Applied Innovation Corridor.

The property was purchased by Data Communications Inc. to expand its Charlotte operations center. The company specializes in structured network cable systems and security solutions.

Scott Hensley and Lester Osborn of Piedmont Properties/CORFAC represented the buyer. Mike Kirby of SouthEast Commercial Real Estate Group Inc. represented the seller.

“It is a real challenge for local companies to find standalone buildings available to purchase and operate their business from,” said Hensley in the release.

John Robertson, president of Data Communications Inc. said, “Our business continues to grow and we were interested in locating closer to uptown but also wanted an older building with built-in character. This is one of the ugliest structures along the corridor but our plans are to renovate and use it as an example of why saving these old structures and renovating them is far more desirable than tearing them down and building something new.”
