The Southminster continuing-care retirement community in SouthPark will receive two awards at LeadingAge North Carolina’s 60th annual Spring Conference next month.
The first award, for Excellence in Collaboration, recognizes Southminster’s efforts in creating a multi-generational play park at Marion Diehl Park on Tyvola Road. Southminster donated nearly $200,000 for outdoor equipment for children and adults in a partnership with Mecklenburg County Parks and Recreation.
The second award, for Service Excellence, honors Amy McCallister for her dedication to Southminster’s residents over the last 19 years. McCallister is a marketing coordinator at the site.
Both awards will be presented at a May 12 luncheon at the Leading Age North Carolina Conference at Marriott Resort at Grande Dunes in Myrtle Beach.
LeadingAge North Carolina provides education, advocacy, and networking opportunities for those who provide services to retirees.
