A community workshop will be held April 12 to provide information, answer questions and solicit input regarding possible alignments and design features for the Interstate 85 North Bridge.
Project team members will be available to meet one-on-one to provide information and answer questions.
The workshop is scheduled from 6-8 p.m. at the Oasis Shriners multipurpose room, 604 Doug Mayes Place, Charlotte.
The workshop will kick off the city’s process to develop preliminary design plans for the construction of a bridge over I-85 in Charlotte’s northeast corridor that will connect Research Drive to J.W. Clay Boulevard.
The bridge will link University Research Park with shopping and services at University Place, the Lynx Blue Line rail station at J.W. Clay Boulevard, the North Tryon Street corridor, the Charlotte Research Institute and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
In addition to the bridge project, information will be provided on the J.W. Clay Boulevard and McCullough Drive streetscapes projects, which are nearby.
