AIA Charlotte extends design awards deadline

The Charlotte chapter of the American Institute of Architects has extended its deadline for entries in its 2016 Design Awards program.

The 2016 awards will be given in three categories: design, residential design, and divine detail. The new deadline for nominations is March 28.

Within the design category, awards will be given for design and for unrealized projects, a new category recognizing unbuilt architecture and urban design as well as theoretical or conceptual work including installations, land art and research.

Within residential design, awards will be given for design and for renovation, also a new category.

A third new category is divine detail, which will recognize a specific detail within a project.

The awards gala will be held in June. For information, visit aiacharlotte.org.
