After breaking ground in August 2015, Portman Holding’s downtown Charlotte office tower development, 615 South College, is well underway and on track for an estimated completion date of first quarter 2017.
“The construction process to date has gone very smoothly, and the building is on schedule to top off this August,” said Travis Garland with Portman Holdings. “We’ve seen increased interest since breaking ground last summer, and we’re hoping to update the market soon with initial tenant announcements.”
615 South College is a 370,000 square-foot 19-story Class-AA office building offering views of both downtown and South End Charlotte.
It features two-story balconies and an outdoor green space that connects the building to Stonewall Station, downtown’s first light rail stop.
“It’s an exciting time for both 615 South College and the entire Stonewall corridor,” said John Ball, senior leasing agent at Trinity Partners. “As construction at 615 continues, the entire area is evolving with new development, including Crescent’s mixed-use/Whole Foods project immediately adjacent to 615 South College at the Stonewall Light Rail Station. We’re looking forward to being a part of what’s certain to be one of downtown’s most active sectors.”
In the past 60 years, Portman Holdings has developed more than 50 million square feet of real estate around the world with a focus on hospitality, office and mixed-use properties.
