City officials including District 4 Council Member Greg Phipps will present an update on local and state transportation projects in the Newell area on Jan. 26. The meeting will focus on the Northeast Corridor Infrastructure Program and will happen from 6-8 p.m. at Newell Presbyterian Church, 1500 Rocky River Road West.
The infrastructure program aims to improve access to the CATS Blue Line Extension in the area including plans for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers. Officials hope to implement station area plans along the BLE and improve access to the Cross Charlotte Trail and Mecklenburg County greenway system.
The first section of the meeting will be at 6:10 p.m. with an update on district-wide projects. Beginning about 6:50 p.m., there will be an update on Rocky River Road West. For more information, visit CharlotteFuture.com/NorthEast.
