The Carolinas Associated General Contractors will hold its HR & Safety Conference from July 30-31 in Greenville, South Carolina, in conjunction with the Divisions’ Conference and Industry Summit. Both events are open to members and nonmembers.

The safety conference is part of the CAGC’s “Safely Home” initiative. The group recently met with North Carolina Labor Commissioner Cherie Berry to discuss its efforts to reduce the number of construction job site accidents through its education and safety training efforts, including the new program. The initiative  includes an alliance agreement with state Department of Labor; a commitment to eliminate obstacles to employers by offering appropriate and affordable safety training; establishing single safety-training pricing for association members and nonmembers; free work-zone safety training; the construction safety conference; and sharing construction-related safety resources with the industry.

“Nothing you do is more important than safety – and CAGC is to be commended for your Safely Home campaign,” said Berry.
