CHARLOTTE –Valerie Mitchener, the owner and broker-in-charge of HM Properties, announced she is buying a 7,000-square-foot building at 6857 Fairview Road in the Colony on Fairview II office complex across from Phillips Place in SouthPark.

After the closing in mid-January, a complete renovation of the two-story building will begin on the interior and exterior facade. The company is expected to move in before its ninth anniversary on August 17.

“When we founded this company in 2006, we had six brokers and two staff members,” said Mitchener in a statement. “Now, we have 62 brokers, 10 staff and have outgrown our 5,500 square foot space at Piedmont Row Town Center.” Mitchener made the announcement to her brokers and staff during a holiday brunch recently.

Mitchener and Robby Johnson, a Charlotte architect, designed the new office space to be reflective of the company’s brand and enhance the “dynamic synergy within the company.”

“There will be an open two-story foyer, floor-to-ceiling glass windows, marble floors, and comfortable working spaces throughout,” she said. “We are like family and I want the agents and staff to feel at home when they work.”
