Tickets are on sale for Historic Charlotte’s 14th Annual Blast for the Past, which will include winners of commercial and residential preservation awards.
The event will include drinks, entertainment and food provided by Heist Brewery from 6-8:30 p.m. Oct. 15 at the Charlotte Museum of History, 3500 Shamrock Drive.
The master of ceremonies will be attorney David Erdman, a local historian, lecturer and member of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Historic Landmarks Commission. He will provide a summary of his presentation “Lost Charlotte,” which examines significant buildings razed or saved since 1976. He will present this year’s Commercial and Residential Preservation Awards.
The guest speaker will be Ramona Bartos, deputy state historic preservation officer with the N.C. Department of Cultural Affairs. She will give a brief update on the N.C. State Historic Preservation Tax Credits, due to sunset at the end of 2014, and on proposals for a successor program.
Tickets are on sale for $25 in advance and $35 at the door the night of the event.
