DAVIDSON – Childress Klein Properties this week announced it has begun construction on a 51,000-square-foot, three-story office building that will become home to the regional headquarters of the Valspar Corp. paint-making giant.
The building, at Griffith and Jetton streets, will be named Two Harbour Place, part of a 2007 mixed-use development by Charlotte-based Childress Klein. Two Harbour Place is part of the town of Davidson’s 2004 Northeast Quadrant Master Plan for the area just east of Interstate 77’s exit 30.
The mixed-used Harbour Place development consists of about 500,000 square feet of office, retail, residential, hospitality and educational uses, including the co-headquarters of MSC Industrial Direct, Wells Fargo offices, and a Homewood Suites motel.
Valspar will relocate its regional operations to Two Harbour Place from its current location in Mooresville’s Morrison Plantation.
Another Charlotte developer, Lat Purser & Associates, in May won approval to erect a new boutique apartment building on another corner of the Jetton-Griffith intersection.
Lat Purser plans to build a four-story, 164-unit apartment building, with 5,000 square feet of ground-floor shopping and dining, part of the developer’s My Niche Apartments push that has put mid-size, boutique apartment buildings in younger, hipper neighborhoods like NoDa and Plaza Midwood.
