CHARLOTTE – Urban planner, author and Charlotte native Victor Dover will lead a discussion Tuesday about the revival in building – and rebuilding – neighborhoods based on streets that are designed to be walked, cycled and admired.
The coauthor, with architect John Massengale, of “Street Design: The Secret to Great Cities and Towns” (Wiley, January 2014), Dover will be the featured speaker at a Civic by Design Forum at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, at the Levine Museum of the New South, 200 E. Seventh St. in Uptown.
Dover, cofounder of Dover, Kohl & Partners Town Planning in Coral Gables, Fla., has 25 years’ experience restoring healthy neighborhoods and creating walkable communities. He has designed 150 neighborhoods, urban revitalization programs, and regional plans across five continents.
And there will be a little hometown angle to the talk: Two streets in Charlotte are featured in “Street Design.”
The talk is free and open to the public.
