City of Charlotte releases decades of documents

CHARLOTTE – Do you often have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep?

Well the city of Charlotte has just the thing for you. Next time you find yourself tossing and turning in bed, unable to fall asleep, just visit this website.

The city clerk’s office recently has made available PDFs of Charlotte City Council meetings dating back to the start of 1979. Just imagine, 35 years of city government in one location. Take it from someone who has fought sleep at recent City Council meetings, this soporific archive will have you in dreamland after just a couple of paragraphs.

The amount of information available in the archive truly is impressive, as the city has put the minutes of more than 1,000 City Council meetings in the archive, making available any city-government issue or action within the last three and a half decades.

The clerk’s office will continue to add meetings to the archive as they happen. The next City Council meeting is Feb. 17.
