Wells Fargo volunteers work with Rebuilding Together

On a frigid Jan. 24, 38 hearty volunteers from Wells Fargo Community Relations and Outreach volunteered a day of service with nonprofit Rebuilding Together. As part of a team exercise, the volunteers traveled from as far as San Antonio and San Francisco to rehabilitate two homes in the Villa Heights section of Charlotte.  Two Rebuilding Together board members, Robert Price and Jeff Pautz, both experienced contractors by trade, supervised and trained the Wells Fargo volunteers’ work, which included replacing windows and kitchen flooring, installing a new toilet, regrouting bath tile, installing porch handrails to code and painting. Wells Fargo employees Jeffery Coleman, left, and Rulon Washington cut boards that will help repair a house on Lunsford Place. Tammy Sanders, a Wells Fargo employee from Atlanta, paints the interior of a house. Rebuilding Together has worked on 75 projects and provided $1 million in free repairs to low-income Charlotteans since its inception in 2010. – Reporting by Graziella Steele; photos by Nell Redmond
