Eastwood pushes into Virginia

CHARLOTTE ─ Eastwood Homes, a regional builder based in the Queen City, has announced it is making its first foray outside the Carolinas by buying into three subdivisions in and around Richmond, Va.

Founded in 1977, the company was already in five markets: Charlotte, Raleigh and the Triad in N.C.; and in Charleston and Greenville, S.C.

In Richmond, where Eastwood has just broken ground on its first home, the company plans to build hundreds more on lots in the Watermark and Magnolia Green developments in Chesterfield and Patriots Landing in New Kent County.

The company hopes to be building in six to eight more subdivisions by the end of 2014. The homes will run from about $250,000 to $400,000.
