CHARLOTTE – ContraVest, an apartment developer out of Altamonte Springs, Fla., must be feeling the longer days and rising temperatures of summer at The Addison at South Tryon, the company’s $32-million, 321-unit apartment project on South Tryon St.
That’s because Mecklenburg County just issued a building permit to ContraVest, valued at $88,150, for work on the pool at the apartment community. Hot Springs Pools, of Greenville, S.C., is the general contractor on the pool, according to county records.
The pool is the latest in a string of building permits issued for The Addison, on which construction started in January. The first units are set to be available starting in October, and the project will be finished in 2014.
The project is to have nine three- and four-story buildings. Of the 321 units, 17 will be studios, 114 will be one-bedroom units, 162 will be two-bedroom units and 28 will have three bedrooms.
Square footage of the units at The Addison will range from 639 for the smallest studio to 1,414 for the largest three-bedroom unit. Rents will range from $715 for studios to $1,300 for three-bedroom apartments.
ContraVest is serving as not only the developer, but also the general contractor on the apartment buildings.
