Mexican restaurant signs lease for Harrisburg Town Center

HARRISBURG – La Unica, a Mexican restaurant with two Charlotte-area locations, signed a lease Tuesday to bring a restaurant to Harrisburg Town Center, a shopping center in Cabarrus County.

Chris Orr, president of Charlotte-based Romans Properties, who represents the building’s owner, said La Unica signed the lease Wednesday for the 3,250-square-foot restaurant after the initial showing Feb. 1.

Orr said he wasn’t certain about the terms of the lease, since Romans doesn’t own the building. But he said La Unica is paying around $20 a square foot for the space. He declined to disclose the name of the building’s owner.

Soho Café, a Chinese restaurant, previously occupied the space, so La Unica won’t have to do much work before the restaurant opens, Orr said. The décor is all that is changing, he said, adding that La Unica could be open within the next three weeks.

La Unica’s other two locations are in Huntersville and Indian Trail.
