CHARLOTTE — Balfour Beatty is working on a $1.4 million, 19,085-square-foot upfit in Bank of America Corporate Center for New York-based Marsh & McLennan, according to Mecklenburg County’s online building permits database.

The Charlotte office of Dallas-based Balfour is the general contractor on the project, according to the building permit, which was issued Thursday.
Marsh & McLennan offers insurance to middle-market U.S. companies.
Charlotte is already home to two offices for Marsh & McLennan-owned companies, a Rutherfoord office on Fairview Road and a Trion office on Torringdon Way Drive, according to the company’s website.
It’s unclear whether the project at Bank of America Corporate Center is a relocation or a new office for Marsh & McLennan. Marsh and Balfour Beatty could not be reached for comment.
