Driven Brands to take over 7th floor of Ally Center

A spokeswoman for the building said the Driven Brands lease drops the vacancy rate to 22.4 percent.

CHARLOTTE — Trinity Capital Advisors said Charlotte-based Driven Brands has signed a lease for 26,753 square feet in the Ally Center, an uptown building where vacancy topped 31 percent before the deal.

Driven will take over the whole seventh floor, using it as its new headquarters. Driven oversees auto-related franchises, including Maaco, Meineke, Meineke/Econo-Lube, Aero Colours, AutoQual and Drive N Style.

Molly Carroll, spokeswoman for Charlotte-based Trinity, which owns and leases the 15-story building, said that thanks to the Driven lease the 386,092-square-foot building will have 86,500 vacant square feet, dropping the vacancy rate to 22.4.

Carroll would not disclose the terms of Driven’s lease. But according to Leah Bailey, who handles leasing for the building, the average lease rate for the Ally Center runs from $24.50 to $25 a square foot.
