Michigan company builds $32M senior-living center in south Charlotte

Listen to this articleCHARLOTTE — West Bloomfield, Mich.-based Singh Development has started building a roughly $32 million, 30,000-square-foot senior-living center at 11945 Providence Road.
Construction on Waltonwood at Providence began last month. The center will have 94 one- and two-bedroom independent-living units; 54 suite-style assisted-living units, with separate bedrooms, living rooms and kitchenettes; and 20 hotel-style, memory-care units, said Singh Vice President Mike Kahm.
Kahm said he expects Waltonwood to open by the summer of 2014. Singh Construction, of Cary, the construction arm of Singh Development, is the general contractor on the project.
