SOUTHWEST CHARLOTTE — D.R. Horton, of Fort Worth, Texas, is set to build four new homes in Berewick, the massive, 1,070-acre mixed-use development off Steele Creek Road and Interstate 485 near Lake Wylie.
Horton, one of the largest homebuilders nationally and in Charlotte, won building permits last week to construct the home, Mecklenburg County records show.
The homes will cost Horton between $150,000 and $205,000 to build and will range in size from 2,560 square feet to nearly 3,600, the building permits say. They will have three to four bathrooms each, and four to five bedrooms, according to the records.
Horton homes now for sale in Berewick range in price from $210,000 to $300,000, according to the development’s website.
Berewick is being developed by Charlotte-based Pappas Properties. Other homebuilders in the development include Bellamy Homes (Charlotte), Essex Homes (Columbia, S.C.), Lennar (Miami) and Ryan Homes (Reston, Va), according to the Berewick website.
The master plan for Berewick calls for as many as 2,700 single-family homes, town houses and apartments; a 92-acre “Town Center” retail/office area; a 195-acre recreational park; and an office/business park, the Pappas Properties website says.
