Piedmont Properties and Corfac International said LKQ Corp. has signed a 156,000-square-foot lease for the former FedEx facility at 1001 Carrier Drive in Charlotte.
The deal was announced Wednesday.
Annapolis, Md.-based North American Terminals Management owns the facility, Piedmont Properties and Corfac said.
LKQ, based in Chicago, provides aftermarket and recycled collision-replacement parts for automobiles. It will occupy the entire facility, which sits on 52 acres.
The facility will serve as LKQ’s base of operations for the Carolinas and allow the company to increase product offerings to the Charlotte metropolitan area while also growing its work force, according to
Piedmont Properties and Corfac.
Bill Mowry, of Prime Equities, represented LKQ, Lester Osborn, principal broker at Piedmont
Properties and Corfac, represented North American Terminals in the lease negotiations.
