Construction has begun on Bellamy Homes’ project for ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” but it looks like the home
may be one of the last ever built for the show. ABC has told the
Hollywood Reporter the network is cancelling the show after its ninth season.
The final episode will air Jan. 13 on ABC, but there will be four special episodes throughout 2012, including the one that will
feature the home built in Lincolnton for Devonda and James Friday. The family was chosen because of their work with foster children. (They have taken in more than 30 such children since 2005.)
The family home’s at 105 Moore St. was demolished so a new one could be built for the show.
